March 24 ~ Sandsend

This is Sandsend, about 2 miles north of Whitby. I met up with some members of the Photography Cafe here at about 6am to get shots of the sunrise. We have word from a reliable source that the sun did indeed rise, but this is about as much as we saw of it. The weather was less than ideal, let's just say. I took a lot of shots, but very few are actually worth posting - the sky was a terrible flat, dull and featureless grey. Booooo.

It was a fantastic day though - it was wonderful to meet online friends and deliver real hugs instead of virtual ones.

I couldn't even manage to stay for the fish and chips :( The meal was booked for 8pm, and at 5 I flagged badly and needed to get home. I wish I could have managed it - bet it was a great evening!

Anna, this is simply breathtaking. It has the look of a painting about it. The light is superb as is the composition. Even if you got no other decent shots (and I'm sure you did!!)this one makes the day worthwhile.
Glad to hear you had such a good time with your friends xxxxxx

This is fabulous; it reall should be framed. Glad you had a good day despite the weather; shame you had to miss out on the fish and chips though.

Anna this is beautiful, who needs a blue sky with this lovely warm glow of the early morning light. Postcard or postere material for sure.

Glad you enjoyed your day, maybe one day we can arrange to meet! I may get over that way one day, I need to go and fetch some of my personal things but not in the near future.
