February 7 ~ Not Spring Yet!

These are the same crocuses I photographed the other day for my blog -- now they're covered in an inch or so of snow. To many of you, that may not seem much, but here in the North East of England, right near the North Sea coast, that's rather a lot. (Boy, do I miss the winters back home in Montreal - I love the snow!).

I couldn't get out and about to photograph the snow like I wanted to, as I have to get to work soon and I know it will all have melted by the time I get home. It's beautiful, soft, clingy stuff today - making the ordinary look special. I just had to rush out into the back garden to capture this, just so I could say I managed ONE snow shot! :)

Hope you all have a lovely day - I know I will! I got my early night last night, and feel SO much better for it today. I seem to have shaken off whatever bug had its grip on me, and feel terrific this morning!

It looks like we all might get some more snow in a day or two! Glad you feel so much better today. I like the fresh and delicate tones in the photo and your framing sets it off very well!

Thank you for visiting my blog!!! I can see I have alot to learn, but bearing in mind I only started 1st January I'm pleased with what I've caught! I may join your photo cafe, but we will see! Love the crocus. Wish we had snow!!!

The colors are lovely and the closeup has given a very small depth of field, I just find myself wishing that there was a bit of focus on one of the flowers at least. Did you sharpen the image or was this the effect you were aiming for? Glad you got some snow, despite the cold here I Love the snow too but wish it would stay just cold enough to stop it melting, it is the extreme cold that gets me.

The contrast between the delicate flowers and the snow is wonderful. I can see why you wanted to capture this image right away!
I am glad that you are feeling better!
