Following some very constructive critique from a couple of friends (who know who they are :) ) I have decided to re-shoot the image from Sunday, this time without the distracting stripe of lighter wood in the way.

- I am a keen amateur photographer and have a passion for seascapes, landscapes and still life images, although I will try my hand at just about anything. I enjoy viewing everyday things and seeing the potential in oft-overlooked subjects. 2014 marks my return to photography after 5 years away while my two daughters were very small. Now that they are 2 and nearly 5, I have the time and energy to focus on my photography once again. As a result, I am a beginner again :) Project365 is my way of relearning and of honing my skills.

Sheesh Anna I am glad you didnt cook them before you reshot them LOL. These can be expensive, but you are right they are yummy especially when you buy them fresh. We sometimes find them popping up in the field here and I grab them and cook them LOL.
