October 29 ~ Slinky Steps

Flex spent quite a lot of time setting this up; he was looking forward to setting the Slinky on its journey down the "steps". That little tinker of a Mini-Me took advantage of Flex leaving the scene to get his camera, and decided to set things off. He just couldn't resist, and as a result spoiled Flex's fun! Mini-Me took off at a run after his latest bout of mischief, and Flex is hunting high and low for him as I type.

October 24 ~ Pole Dancing

Mini-Me had heard that pole dancing was good exercise, so figured he'd give it a whirl.

Mini-Me is ready. He's hoping that the pumpkin will turn once again into a magical horse-drawn coach, and that Cinderella will come out, ready for the ball.

Didn't have the heart to tell him he'd have a long wait.

October 20 ~ Castlerigg

Spent the day today in the Lake District. I'd never visited before, and it truly is a landscape photographer's paradise. I can't wait to go back! This is Castlerigg Stone Circle at dawn. It meant a very early departure from Sunderland, but it was worth it. I can't wait until I get the opportunity to visit this area again.

October 16 ~ Mothering Instinct

Gertrude spotted the eggs I used in a recent image, and figured she would step into the breach and offer some mothering. Her instinct kicking in and her doing this is commendable - I just didn't have the heart to tell her what the eggs are here for (scrambled eggs for breakfast, anyone?)

October 14 ~ The Beach

Managed to get down to the beach this morning for sunrise. While not the most spectacular I've seen, it was a far cry better than yesterday's. I managed to get a few shots that I'm particularly pleased with, so aside from this first image that is my actual PAD project photo, I will post the others that made me smile.

Going to be a busy week this week; I'm in the branch all morning tomorrow, then getting picked up by a colleague to drive down south to Telford. Overnight there, then a national conference on Tuesday. Heading home on Tuesday night, so no idea what time I'll eventually stumble in. The last time I drove to Telford from here, it took me almost 6 hours, but I have been assured that it won't take nearly as long this time round. At least I'm not the driver!

Things only improved when I got home and curled up to watch some TV with Chris. Here's hoping tomorrow is a better day!

It's been one of those October days that I'm not so keen on today; very gloomy and dull and rainy. Good thing it's a workday for me then! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this coming weekend will be nicer than it was on Sunday when I last went out with the camera - C and I want to get out and about somewhere.

October 7 ~ Beach Detail

Alternatively known as "The Sunrise That Wasn't". Headed out around 6:00 this morning hoping to catch a lovely sunrise along the coast. Seeing as I missed out on a beauty yesterday, I didn't want to let a second opportunity pass me by. I guess it was payback for yesterday - I was greeted with low cloud and mist, nothing remotely photogenic. Serves me right for getting all ready to head out yesterday, then dozing off on the sofa instead of getting out there! Oh well. Today, apart from the fact that the sky lightened from gunmetal grey to not-so-gunmetal grey, you wouldn't have known there even WAS a sunrise. I decided, therefore, to work on some detail shots instead (and an opportunistic grab shot of some passing swans taken as I was packing up to head home).

October 3 ~ Sitting Ducks

Just three little duckies, all in a row.

Been on a course today so couldn't take advantage of the beautiful autumn weather. We've had a lovely autumn so far, just not enough days free to be out and about! I still seem to be fighting off some sort of flu-like bug, so not much energy or imagination today I'm afraid.
