Managed to get out with Chris today, and we had a lovely time. He bought me some tulips, and this was my favourite shot - I converted it to black and white as the colour version didn't seem to pick out the lone water droplet as well. I don't usually convert floral photos to black and white, but I just loved the tones of this and thought it lent itself well to conversion.
Guess I'm just in a black and white photo kind of mood today, as I played around with one of my lighthouse shots too, just to see how it would look. I have to say that I'm rather pleased with the result, and think that - surprisingly - this seascape works well as a monochrome image. I'll post the lighthouse shot below; please feel free to tell me if it's rubbish! LOL
We listened to Sunderland's football match on the radio (that's soccer for all you back home in North America!) and - hooray! - we beat Derby County 2-1! We then watched England's rugby match against Ireland and were disappointed to see England get completely trounced - 43-13. What a completely different feeling.
Here's the lighthouse photo:
Hope you all have a lovely Saturday, thank you for stopping by, and {{{HUGS}}} for those that want 'em!

I think the seascape works really well in b&w.
The tulip has some good tones and details but the strong highlight in the stalk draws my eyes and keeps it there.
I love the lighthouse shot; it has a real brooding quality to it! I like flowers in B&W too and your tulip is beautifully composed and very effective. I didn't notice the highlight on the stalk until I read Mike's comment - it is quite strong but I still really like this photo.
Glad you and Chris had a fun day XXXX

That is a good shot of the Lighthouse, one to be proud of. I see the Lighthouse on an almost daily basis and you have captured it just right. Nice one

These are wonderful Anna. I love the black and whites...I get in those moods too....
Glad your day was good! :)
Both those photos are lovely in b%w.
I tried to take a photo of my tulips in b&w and it just didn't work for me. But now I'm inspired to try try again. Thanks, Ab
I can see both of these as posters, they are great, I still struggle to get B&W conversions done properly.
I didn't really notice the white stalk until Mike pointed it out, but maybe a bit of burning could lessen that a bit and it is still a great shot, I like the water droplet. It is amazing how different people see the same photo in so many different ways, that is what I like about photography.

Beautiful Anna!!! Both shots!!!! Very nicely done! :o)
I love the contrast of this image. Was it pushed at all in Photoshop? The eye goes wow when it first loads.
