February 22 ~ Dreamscape
This is a bit of a departure for me, photographically speaking - I don't usually take such abstract images. I had been inspired by an article in this month's Practical Photography magazine, and decided to give it my own twist.
I'm not entirely convinced that it's effective, so would love some feedback on it. Whether it's worked or not, I feel that it pretty much sums up my mood and general feeling today - dreamy and "not quite there". I've been experiencing moments of sleepiness (I'm overtired) coupled with scatterbrainedness (is that even a word??) and this flowing, meandering composition that seemingly has no rhyme or reason seems to express those sensations well!
I'm glad it's Friday tomorrow; I will get a chance to spend some time with Chris for a change. We've both been struck down with this bug, so I've been hitting the hay rather early every night, and he's having trouble sleeping at all - not a great combination. We've decided to go out for a wander somewhere on Saturday, so I'm looking forward to that very much.
Oh, for any of you that are interested in how I took this shot, it's just some food colouring dropped into a vase of water. I rotated the photo so it looked as if the droplets were moving upwards from the bottom, and played with the saturation a bit. This was actually green food colouring against a white background, but I found it looked too harsh and clinical, so I toyed around with the colours a bit. I found the result a bit more interesting.
{{{HUGS}}} for all who want 'em - thank you all again for stopping by; I sure appreciate your commments!

Thanks for the hug, Anna, feel like I needed it tonight!!
I like your photo - it's really different. I think the red works very well. I wouldn't have guessed you had inverted it.
Hope you and Chris feel much better soon.
Take care xxxx
Its always good to try new things and it certainly seems to have worked nicely here! I look forward to more of your experiments through this year!!! :o)
{{{BIG HUGS}}} to you and Chris, hope you both have a wonderful weekend! :o)

Hey I will take all the hugs I can get ((((HUGS)))) here is one back. Sorry you are still feeling so badly.
I love the shot, I have also often wanted to try this sort of shot and the water droplets with the reflections. I still havent been able to master the color changes thing in PS.
I hope the weather is good for you on Saturday and that you are both feeling great.
I'll always take a hug, Anna. Thanks!
What an interesting pic. Not at all like your normal work. It's very interesting indeed.
Fun to play around with experimenting sometimes.
il ne manque qu'une musique de Klaus Schulze et on se retrouve dans les annees 1970 ou tout flotter.
Bon weekend
it misses only one music of Klaus Schulze and one finds oneself in the years 1970 or all to float. Good weekend
Love this photo...its so surreal!
I like it! Looks like a chicken!! Hope your both feeling better soon!
How come I didn't kow about this Site before?!?
Oh my, you continue to absolutely amaze me with your eye.
Hope You and Chris are feelling better. Bear HUGS to you both. Miss you. Sent with much love.
Wow, I love this photo Anna!! So cool. What a great and artistic idea!
Thanks so much for stopping by...and for your kind comments. I think if I ever really stopped to think about what I write I might not ever blog. I get to self-conscious of what I'm saying and panic that people won't "get" it or think I'm a wack-o :) And I guess even if they do, oh well. But thanks for reading!
Now if I could just figure out how to put people's blogs on my sidebar...
p.s. i'll take one of those hugs, too :)
